Imovie and Garage Band

Today we learnt how to combine our sceanes on imovie. It appears very easy, all I have to do is save the scenes onto the desktop and then drag them into imovie. Then drag them into the order I want them to be shown.

Transitions:
Jumpcut
Cross Disolve 

When the movie is over I will put in credits

With a black background and white writing .. however before that there will be THE END

When i have finished in imovie- I click file - share - quick time
That will then be on the desktop

Garage Band
I will use garage band to insert sound into the film. First I must drag from itunes into garage band. The pdf can then be adjusted to the right spot. I will at least have to leave myself two weeks to adjust the sound and music.

Textures

The textures which I will need in order to complete my cannibal are:

- Ogre skin (green)
- Wood (spear and club)
- Bone
- Toe/finger nail
- Some form of colour for eyes

I really want my cannibal to have red eyes with the whites being a yellow colour
Eg. Red eyes... except there would be yellow around the colour

Out Line of Cannibal.. Idea slightly changed

I have redrawn my cannibal and it has ended up looking like this. I'm quite please, however I have had a better idea to create his body, with his ogre skin etc. But when he dances, colour comes out from where the impact is, or from the ends of his hands. This will in turn paint the white walls with the music.

New Idea vs old idea

Due to loosing my usb I had to start all my work again. However,  whilst drawing the outline to my cannibal .. I decided that it should be all in black and white.. and then when there is a large sound, for example when he screams/rawrs colour bursts out or when he stomps it shoots across the ground from the foot being the centre point.

Im deciding whether or not I should keep my old idea of using photoshop to add in ogre skin, this will show more of my animation skills.

Animating my Cannibal

During this lesson I worked on creating my cannibal using animation-ish. First I had to upload my image, using my usb, into the program. I worked about 20 minutes on outlining his shape, and the majour lines of his body, club and spear. As soon as I finished redrawing him, I will upload it.
Also when the drawing is complete, i will colour it in with the paints that come with the program. After this, I plan to open the picture in photo shop and add ogre skin, wooden fixtures and others. This will give him a more menacing and realistic look.

Jeffery Dahmer Animation Ideas

There are two animation types in which I am considering for the Jeffery Dahmer verse. Either completely animated or similar to a show called 'Angela Annaconda'. They have an animated body and an image as a head with small amounts of animation included. It id quite effective and unique. I really like the concept and think that it will really catch the attention of the viewers.

Crazy Eyes Idea

As stated below, I plan to have Jeffery Dahmer's eyes roll around in his head when he dances into the film. I have done some research upon what crazy eyes actually look like. They turned out to be exactly what I imagined, big bulging eyes, slightly red or yellow and either really large or really small pupals rolling all around the surface area of the eyes, not symmetrically.

Straitjacket and Prisioner Uniforms

 Straitjacket
A straitjacket is a garment shaped like a jacket with overlong sleeves and is typically used to restrain a person who may otherwise cause harm to themselves or others. Once the arms are inserted into the straitjacket's sleeves, they are then crossed across the chest. The end of the sleeves are then tied to the back of the wearer, ensuring that the arms are kept close to the chest with as little movement as possible.

Prisoner Uniform (old fashioned)

A prison uniform is any uniform worn by individuals incarcerated in a prison, jail or similar facility of detention.

I plan for within my animation for Jeffery Dahmer come onto the screen dancing in either a straitjacket or an old fashioned prisoners uniform. I think that I will use the straitjacket because it will give me the ability to make his eyes roll around in his head so he appears crazy. Therefore adding to the affect of the final film.

Who is Jeffery Dahmer

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender. Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys – many of whom were of African or Asian descent – between 1978 and 1991, with the majority of the murders occurring between 1987 and 1991. His murders were particularly gruesome, involving rape, torture, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. On November 28, 1994, he was beaten to death by an inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution, where he had been incarcerated.

Therefore he is a cannibal. He will fit in well with my video clip

Jerky hand movements

When I talk about 'Jerky hand movements' or 'twitching' in my written story board I mean that he should make moves like the music group 'JGeek and the Geeks' in the video clip Maouri Boys. Back Ground

For my animation I believe that I should not have a background to clutter the screen and take the attention off what is ment to be focused on. So a white back ground would be simple and perfect for this project, however if i have time, I may include a floor, not coloured, and shadows of the items on the screen.

Theatrical Dancing

I mentioned previously in my worded story board about the cannibal to begin theatrical dancing throughout the video clip. I found an example of what I mean on Youtube and have added a link below. It is, from what I believe, a couple dancing around their kitchen, however if you skip to approximately 0:40, you will see the idea I have roughly. Normal Shuffling

This is basically the idea of shuffling. It is very quick, which possibly be difficult to animate, however I am up for the challenge. Shuffling is a quick dragging or scraping movement of the feet in dancing. It is a particular hard skill to master. See below to see one of the dancing types in my music videos:

The Ideas so far/Worded Story board

So far I have thought of making an animation on a cannibal, dancing to the music of 'cannibal' by Ke$ha .. as stated in -animation-ish vs istop motion-. With the lyrics the man will dance. I will upload the lyrics individually after this post but below are the lyrics with the dance move ideas I have had so far:

Scene One:
Rawr!
Rawr!
I have a heart - stops onto screen, song begins and heart pounds out of chest twice.
once - "i have a heart.."
I swear I do - second - "i swear i do"
But just not baby - cannibal shoves heart back into chest forcefully, shakes head and wiggles finger back and forward
When it comes to you -  Points at screen
I get so hungry when you say you love me - stomach rumbles, cannibal licks lips and rubs stomach
Hush if you know what's good for you - Looks cross/mad and pushes index finger to lips

Scene Two:
I think you're hot - catches on fire
I think you're cool - runs off screen, comes back on with bucket of water and pours it all over himself - or - water rains onto him or comes from ceiling - or - ash from smoke rises up and forms a cloud, pours down on cannibal

Animation-ish vs. Istop motion and

Our class has been introduced too two different forms of animation... the first being Animation-ish. This form of animation is drawings, drawn on the computer placed on top of each other and flicked threw quickly. Where as istop motion is either drawings or 3D objects, such as clay or pencils, doing different things, but moved a small amount in each shot. Both making the pictures appear to come alive. There are many famous animation shows that use these forms of animation, such as The simpsons, Walt Disney and Pengu (a clay made penguin).

Having to decide which one would create my story better was simple. I chose Animation-ish as there is more of a variety of what I can create. Where as with istop motion there is only using already existing objects in creating a movie.

I wish to make a music video about a cannibal. The song that he will be in is called 'Cannibal' by Ke$ha. There is a strong beat and occasionally becomes faster where i wish he will shuffle, a form of dancing.  I plan to use a already animated image I found on Google.com/images, except for the fact that he was intended to be a caveman, he is perfect. He looks a little bit like a cannibal because he has a bone through his nose as a piercing. He looks strong and violent with a club in his hand. Due to his tongue hanging out of his mouth he looks stupid, which will add to the fact that this man is slow and sluggish and you would not expect this from him. This will create my animation to be humerus to the viewers. The images that I will bring to life is included below. I believe that he was the perfect choice and that also Animation-ish will make this music video fantastic.

I love the fact that he has a spear, making him look like a hunter.

Ball - Animation

So far this term I have been playing around with Animation-ish Class room edition. I made a pink ball bounce across the screen. I'm really happy with it because I've never made anything in animation-ish before and it looks like a real ball bouncing (except the fact that it sort of looks like a drawing ).See the movie below :)
